Cleaning procedure of housekeeping items
OBJECTIVE: To establish a cleaning procedure for housekeeping items.
SCOPE: This SOP is applicable to all sections in the formulation.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Production Supervisor – Implementation of SOP.
Workmen / Housekeepers – To clean the housekeeping items as per SOP.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Production HEAD
PROCEDURE:
Cleaning:
Housekeeping items include:
Moping cloth & its handle,
- wiper
- brush
- scoop
- scrubber
- bucket
- trolley.
Transfer the trolley containing all housekeeping items to the wash area.
Remove the buckets from the trolley and drain all the dirty water from the bucket.
Clean all the items one by one as per the given procedure.
Moping Cloth & its Handle:
- Remove the moping cloth from the handle.
- Rinse it with potable water twice & drain the dirty water.
- Finally, rinse with purified water, and squeeze to remove water.
- Scrub the handle with a scrubber to remove any sticky material.
- Rinse it with potable water.
Wiper:
- Scrub the handle & wiper blade with the help of a disposable scrubber to remove any sticky material.
- Wash both with potable water.
Brush:
- Scrub the handle & bristle with the help of a disposable scrubber to remove any sticky material.
- Wash both with potable water.
Scoop:
- Wash the scoop with the help of a disposable scrubber to remove any sticky material.
- Wash with potable water.
Bucket & Trolley:
- Wash the bucket with 1.0% w/v aqueous solution of SLS.
- Finally, wash with potable water.
- Keep the bucket upside down position on a pallet to dry.
- Mope the trolley with the help of a wet cloth.
- Finally, wash with potable water.
