HANDLING, CLEANING, AND CALIBRATION OF STANDARD WEIGHT
PROCEDURE
Handling of weight:
- Each standard weight shall bear an identification number.
- Don’t touch the weight directly with bare hands, wear hand Gloves for handling weights.
- Carefully handle the weight to avoid any mechanical damage
- All Standard weights shall be stored in a dust-free closed box.
- Issuance of standard weights to the departments shall be maintained in the issuance log as per Attachment-I
Cleaning of weight:
- Clean the weights weekly or whenever required.
- Mop the entire standard weight with a clean lint-free mop moist with 70% IPA.
- Allow to evaporate the 70% IPA residue and after that use the weight.
Calibration of weight:
- All standard weights shall be calibrated after two years by Government approved agency.
- Each standard weight shall bear its certificate of calibration along with traceability with
National / International Standards. - Maintain the list of Standard Weights as per Attachment II.
